We will be having a fun-filled clean-up party Saturday morning, April 11 around the ponds. Please come to the pond area between 9:30 and 10:00 AM to join in, thanks!
We are happy to announce the completion of stage one “sod instead of gravel” along our front driveways. Ten units on Ashworth and Amelia are done and looked great right before the first snowstorm. The remaining driveways on Algonquin will be done next summer.
We are also very happy with the extensive landscaping project on the north side of the ponds. Several units had their decks protected from erosion through the construction of retaining walls and wildflower seeds were planted to help beautify the slopes leading down to the pond. The waterway from the upper pod to the lower pond was cleaned out and rock was placed on the west pond slope and the walkway weeded and graveled. It will be fun to watch the improved pond area grow to a more aesthetic look this spring.
Aquatic Control of Des Moines has also improved the pondwater purity, rebuilt the aerator and replaced the fountain motors. They will store the fountains throughout the winter and bring them back in March.
